The Literacy Partners provide professional development to equip teachers with the tools for success in both reading and writing. The workshops provided will be facilitated by literacy specialists with an extensive background and a track record of success. Their experiences include  both teaching literacy in an elementary school setting and developing pre-service teachers at the university level and current practicing teachers. We are excited to partner with both teachers and administrators with their literacy needs!

As teachers, we know the importance of students' being able to decode text, but decoding alone does not equate to reading. Students must be able to decode and acquire meaning from those words to have a meaningful interaction with the text. The Reading for Deeper Meaning workshop will help you not only better understand the process, but also gain strategies of "making the invisible (thinking), visible" for your students. This workshop will help you to explore the world of close reading to support readers in reading workshop, guided reading, and independent reading. Come learn how to to transform and create new understandings and connections for your students!
