The Literacy Partners provide professional development to equip teachers with the tools for success in both reading and writing. The workshops provided will be facilitated by literacy specialists with an extensive background and a track record of success. Their experiences include  both teaching literacy in an elementary school setting and developing pre-service teachers at the university level and current practicing teachers. We are excited to partner with both teachers and administrators with their literacy needs!

Struggling Readers Series: Decoding & Word Recognition (4th-12th)

Do you have older students who struggle with decoding words into manageable chunks, then this is the workshop for you! When older students struggle with reading, there are many factors that could hinder the reading process, including decoding. The Struggling Readers Series is a series of professional developments that focus on the different factors that cause students to struggle with reading. This session, Decoding and Word Recognition, will help teachers to identify what to look for when students struggle with word recognition. This highly engaging workshop will provide teacher-friendly, yet student-centered strategies that help students to decode by utilizing words parts. The purpose of this workshop is to provide a defined focus into explicit teaching of word recognition strategies.
